Closed Circuit Video Streaming for Race Tracks
January 4, 2010 – CALGARY: CSC Global Technologies Inc. of Calgary, through its wholly owned subsidiary MTPBets Ltd., has launched a commercial Closed Circuit Video Streaming Solution for the horse racing industry. The Closed Circuit Solution allows the race tracks to stream live video from the tracks to Off-Track Betting facilities around the world over the Internet. According to CSC President Garry Saundh, “the Closed Circuit Solution enables every track to increase its revenue by using the OTB facilities located around the world without incurring extra cost. This solution is also highly beneficial to the OTB operators as it eliminates the need for satellite decoders and the associated monthly fees”.
Conventionally, video feeds of the races is transmitted to the OTB using the satellite transmission services. This service is highly expensive and prohibits average race tracks from going to the OTB’s. Similarly, not all establishments can afford the cost of renting decoders to receive the video. “This hurdle is the biggest factor in limiting the growth of this industry. Fewer people are going to the race tracks and even fewer OTB operators can afford covering wide range of tracks. Limited choice for off-track wagering leads to lower interest in the sport and this stems its growth” – says Garry Saundh.

January 15, 2010 – CALGARY: CSC Global Technologies Inc. of Calgary, through its wholly owned subsidiary Canstarz Satellite Solutions, has launched its first data center in the Foothills Industrial Park to provide colocation and IP/Data services.
